Needed help with curly hair that i straighten!!!?

i have curly hair and when i blow dry it, it is wavy and thickkk so i straighten it with a chi hair straightener and it looks great but as soon as i go outside the humidity makes it all wavy.. how do i prevent this?

I have very wavy frizzy hair and I straighten it every day using the following products/routine -

1. Paul Mitchell Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner

2. Before blow drying - Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum

3. Blow Dry - I Have the conair infiniti designs dryer with the straightening attachment so there's no need to use a brush to try and blow out your hair on your own.

4. Once hair is dry...and usually still frizzy for me...I use and swear by John Fredia Sheer Blonde (also avaliable in other hair colors under slightly different product names) Dream Cream. I put this on my hair and then use my straightner (Remington T-Studio) over this. It seals in the Dream Cream into the hair moisturizing the hair and really helps in my opinion with humidity keeping hair straight and smooth.

I used to be in a frizzy mess of hair any time it rained or there was high humidty now I can usually take a moderate amount without having to redo my hair.

Also John Fredia makes a humidty defense hair spray you could try. For me it didn't work wonders but it did help.

There isn't much you can do to defeat humidity. You could try a straightening shampoo and conditioner, then do your usual routine of blow dry/straighten. You could try spritzing some hair spray to keep it from going wavy.

Firstly, it sounds like you're just sticking a blowdryer in your hair rather than blowing it out properly to make it straight. Use a round brush to pull up sections of hair and point the dryer down the strands, which makes them straight and flattens the cuticle or the hair to make it smooth. THEN you take the straightening iron and go over the hair. This makes it extra straight, seals in the style and adds shine.

If that doesn't work, you can try a styling product...There are great flatiron sprays and products out there designed to keep the style in longer. L'Oreal makes a nice one.

And if you're still battling humidity, you may need a better hair straightener. It's a big investment, but if you straighten your hair every day and want it to stay in then it might be worth it. Get one that heats up to 400 degrees, this will keep your hair straight longer than a cheaper straightener.
