Did Pantene Pro-V ruin my curly hair?

I have very curly hair (naturally) that I sometimes flat iron straight (all ceramic so it閳ユ獨 safe) and I recently started using Pantene and now I閳ユ獡 finding that my hair is straight in some areas and not as curly as it used to be. I just found out that Pro V uses wax, could this be ruining my hair? How do I get it to act normal again? I just switched to Redken but I閳ユ獡 waiting to see results. Help!

Pantene did not ruin your hair and all shampoos use wax. Pantene might have too heavy of conditioners or waxes in it that are making your hair limp because they build up on the strands over time. It flattens out my curls too. Wash your hair for a few days in a row with a good clarifying shampoo and then use your redken. In the mean time you can get a curl enhancing spray to help spring your hair back up a bit (I love uptight from bedhead). Also, straightening your hair would ruin it if anything. After a while it gets so damaged that the curls will not be bouncy and smooth anymore so be careful how often you straighten. My hair is always weird and flat for a day or two after i wash my straightened hair back out too.

I'm sure it's not permanent......don't worry :) I can't use Pantene because it leaves a nasty resedue in my hair. You just need a good cleansing shampoo. I've used Aussie's Cleanse and Mend......it cleans your hair and mends the tips (the conditioner is good too) Also Infusium has a good cleansing shampoo to help get rid of your wax build-up. That's all you need to do, get rid of the build-up :) Good luck!!!

I really don't think Pantene ruined your hair...personally, i think it's one of the best shampoos in market! you could try a special shampoo for curly hair and plz, don't make extensive use of the iron straightener, it's not good for your hair!

pantene does use wax to give your hair that shiny look...if you do use pantene its good to switch it up and not use it for an extended period of time...it can make your hair feel greasy and weigh it down
