i have stick straight hair. its ugly and boring. can someone tell me what to do to get really curly hair besides a perm.

um, i dont' think there's any "latina hair", many latinas have different types of hair. i'm latina and my mom's hair is just like yours, pin straight, but mines is wavy and curly (which she envies).

do you mean like, scrunching your hair?? with hairspray and gel?? if so, when you get out of the shower, towel-dry your hair and comb it out and separate it into 2 chunks, like if you were gonna do pig tails, and then with one chunk, divide it horizontally into 2 pieces. and scrunch each part individually with gel, scrunch scrunch until your hand like falls off, but not really, and then after you think you've had enough of scrunching with gel, finish it off with hairspray and go crazy with it!

OR, you could also sleep with medium sized rollers in your hair and lightly spray your hair with "spray gel" before you put the rollers in.

u can perm it.. but there is no going back. Once permed you will need to allow hair to grow back straight. Using straightners after a perm will fry it. Good luck

a caruso hairsetter is awesome for straight hair, and you can buy extra rollers if you have long hair or want a tighter curl get the smallest rollers ^_^ when i want the romantic hair you see on celebs i use the medium size rollers but the small and extra small rollers will give you kinky curls ^_^ plus the curls last a full day even without hairspray unlike using a curling iron. i think you can still buy the caruso at sally's but if you can't it's a hairsetter/ rollers kit that uses steam so it's damage free to your locks ^_^

Hi there. I am latina and I want to say that straight hair is very pretty, its funny how people always want something different to what they have (I always go to the salon to make my hair lookk straight like yours!).

If you want to get your hair curly in a natural and non dangerous way here is an advice: First, you have to have it wet or at least humid, then you need little pieces of foil (Im sorry, my english is not perfect and I dont know if I used the right word but I'm talking about that silver paper you use in the kitchen). With the paper, you need to do many many long strings, like 30 pieces of 13 cm each, and then, you grab a small portion of hair and roll them around the paper, from the tips to the root of your hair (head) and then you tie the two ends of the paper string. Do this with the rest of your hair and keep it like this for 2 hours (or more, if your hair is toooo straight) and when you're going to remove the paper, do it carefully, unroll it, dont pull it. The more rolles you make, the more natural your hair will look....
