Does renken shampoo for curly hair really work?

i have heard it is great, but i don't want to waste money on it if it doesn't work need more opinions. and options what other shampoo for curly hair should i try to make my curls more define, soft, glossy but not to much and make my hair have no fly aways cause that really bugs me

I have very very curly hair, but stylists have never recommended curling shampoos and conditioners for my hair. They usually recommend something like Matrix Sleek Look or Redken Smooth Down. The smoothing stuff eliminates alot of frizz and keeps my hair hydrated. To define my curls I use products. My favorite is this stuff from Sally Beauty Supply called Silk Elements Liquid Styling Gel. This stuff defines my curls without flaking or getting crunchy.

But to address your main question... Redken is a very reliable brand and it will work, but I think if you have thick/coarse hair go with the smoothing stuff instead of the curling stuff. If your texture is more on the fine side, but curly, then try the curl defining shampoo

I use the new Loreal Vive shampoos in the pink bottle, and they work great.

I have curly hair too!!! I hate it. BUT- I have pretty much tried every product out there (my mom's a hair dresser, so I at least get a little of a discount on product) But I have never heard of renken. So I can't help you out, unless you want to know about a different product. What the heck is renken...and now I want to know if it works :)

i think thats what you mean. You need to buy other products to use on your hair too. You can;t just expect a shampoo to do all the work for you.. it will help but you need to add some styling product. Redken has a curl lotion.. buy that as well.
