I have curly hair too and I know what it's like, but I've come to accepting my curly hair (and found a way to tame them) so I don't straighten my hair as much.

I have tried several out there and the one that I like so fat is the new Conair Infiniti Instant Heat Ceramic Straightener. You can get them at Walmart, Walgreens, Kmart, Eckerds. I have been battling my curly hair all my life. I'll bet you have people with straight hair tell you all the time to be thankful you have curly hair! Hah! They don't know the hassels of it. I've tried the professional straightening at the hair salon before and it wasn't worth the price I paid because within about 2 weeks it was back to curly again, plus the chemicals damaged my hair. Of course, your hair might respond fine to it. I deal with it by rolling my hair with big curlers and sitting under a hair dryer to dry it. This helps to straighten and smooth it. I use a flat iron, too, but you have to be really careful with them. They get extremely hot and can fry your hair. In the summer when it's humid (you know what that does to curly hair) I wear my hair in a pony tail or clip all the time, it just gets too wild. Using a really good conditioner helps a lot. Sometimes when I have time, after I wash my hair I'll use conditioner and leave it in for an hour. Well, good luck! :)

I used "Frizz Ease" Serum, Max Strength. Its a tiny bottle and i think its like $8 but its worth it.

Part your hair...do the bottom first and then make your way up, use 1 or 2 pumps of the serum for every part.

After you are done with the blow dryer and your hair is pretty straight, you can either leave it or go over it with a flat iron for a SUPER straight look. I would use a ceramic iron.

And cheer up curly hair isnt that bad ;) Just get some mousse and wear it curly when you dont feel like straightening it...and dont for get the leave-in conditioner!
