Tips on blowdrying my very curly hair alone at home?

I'm moving to another country where hairdressers are expensive, I can't afford straightening my hair at the hair salon anymore... any tips on how to do it my self?

my hair is very very curly and frizzy

I have not had luck with only blow drying my hair. It just makes it very frizzy and dry looking. What I have found that works is I blow dry to about 90% dry. Then use a ceramic hair straightener, like hot tools brand. Also use plunty of a frizz reducing styling product. Make sure you get it 100% dry, or you will cause it to frizz.

Don't finish it off with hairspray, because it has waters in it...and it will cause it to become frizzy. If you want to use hairspray, then use it before you use the hair straightener.

Wash it, blowdry it while its still very wet.*Put heat tamer on it(tresseme). Comb it as you are blowdrying it.

Get a chi straightener I have really curly frizzy hair and thats what I use everyday and my hair comes out very smooth and straight.

I think they run about $150-$200 dollars but its worth it because it lasts a long time, I have had mine for over 2 years and it works great. (you don't even need to put any product in your hair its that great)

I hope this helps good luck =)

the chi straightners are the best ever they are a lil expensive but well worth it

Buy a "wet to straight" iron you can straighten your hair and skip the blow drying all together I have super curly hair and it is thick an frizzy I haven't found anything that works better than the wet to straight it will lock in the moisture so your hair wont fry and also it has a digital reading and can go up to 25 in heat or more depending on which one you buy it gets super hot and straightens my hair like a dream and is so easy to do yourself

Try buying a special brush, you know, like the ones they use at the hair-dressers'. You have to learn how to use it, and it may not be the best if your hair is extremely frizzy, but I would suggest a straightening iron. But get a professional one, with an aluminum surface, or it'll ruin your hair. Those are usually quite expensive, but you buy one once and use it for a long time, and your hair looks totally awesome afterwards. Just make sure it's professional.

You could buy a big barrel curling iron and drag it down from the roots or buy a straightening iron. I also believe that you can buy straightening chemicals the same places you can buy do it yourself hair dye.

Hold the dryer still at the top and do not brush it. smooth down hair while your drying with your hand, you will still get curls but less and less frizz, use briallantly bruinette smoother

1)get your hair cut in layers and get it thinned out so you will have less hair to blow dry.

2) Take it slow, small pieces at a time

3) Use serum to protect your hair and keep it from frizzing up.

4) use a flat iron after blow drying to get it extra straight

A big round brush and a hair dryer. Start at the back and bottom. Pull it straight while blowing it out. Good luck!

Check out the link below to see the BEST product ever. I know that you will love this stuff. It only takes a very small amount, so it will last forever. Also I used it after I had a perm and my hair was sooooooo fried it was unbelievable. It make my hair smooth and soft and completely healthy looking.

You flip your head over so your hair is hanging in front of your face. Start drying at the nape of the neck. Continue drying in a forward direction. Then, you flip your hair back and part it. Start on either side of your head and blow dry starting at the ends and continue upward. Do same on other side.

I have curly hair, and I let mine dry naturally. Drying it with anything but a blowdryer with a diffuser attachment makes it too frizzy. Use a shampoo and conditioner combo for curly hair, but try to stay away from gels and oils because it'll weigh that fine hair of yours down too much.

I use Aussie Sprunch Spray. Right out of the shower, towel dry your hair a bit, scrunching it with the towel to get alot of the wetness out. Hold your hair upside down and spray throughout, swing it back over and spray the top part. Scrunch with your towel again to get more excess water out and start drying afterwards with your diffuser. Scrunch your hair while you're drying it to hold its shape. It's okay to leave it a bit damp, if you were going to straighten it you'd need to have it fully dry.

Buy a Chi Flat Iron (you can get one on Ebay for about $80)

It'll be the best thing you've ever done for your hair!

but on blow drying:

use Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Shampoo %26amp; Conditioner

It will help your hair dry faster and will help keep your hair smooth.

DO NOT BUFF your hair with a towel; it just roughens up your cuticles and makes your frizzy.

then; you need some sort of smoothing creme (I use brilliant brunette's)

After that; section your hair in 2; down the middle and clip. Then start at the bottom; section off about an inch at a time and use a round brush with bristles (not plastic). Only point the blowdryer DOWN (again; if you rough up the cuticles; you will get Frizzy hair). Do this; section by section. One side of the head; then the other.

Then you can use the flat iron to lay it all down (or use a finishing creme).

GOOD LUCK!
