How can i spike curly hair?

well my hair is curly and im wondering if its possible to spike it..

if it is how would i do that? i never tried spiking so i dont know and i never used jel/ wax/ brylcreem....?? O_O

so if anyone knows plz help me out

cut fairly short, and use gel, and a flat iron...(straightener)

Blow dry it straight by using a straightening balm. Then spike it with wax.
